While Colorado is probably best known for the Rocky Mountains, this gallery explores more of its canyons and high desert regions. These include not only Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Parks, but also hidden gems like Rattlesnake Arches, Colorado National Monument and Roxborough State Park. No doubt the most iconic place featured in this gallery is, however, Maroon Bells, tucked away deep in the Rocky Mountains range, and captured during that magical time of the year when the foliage turns fiery yellow and the towering bell-shaped 14ers are lightly powdered with first snow. All pictures, including a handful from Rocky Mountain NP itself, are from a single road trip across Colorado the first week of October 2021.
